Watch the deadlines
For some compensation claims the law sets short time limits. For example, for damage arising from an act of the administration, the period for applying to the administration before filing a lawsuit is one year from the date you learned of it (Administrative Procedure Act No. 2577, APA art. 13). Waiting for the payment does not by itself suspend these periods. Which period applies to you depends on your situation; consult a lawyer with your documents. 3
